Using Skippo on a tablet gives you more space – and a better overview. The larger screen makes it easier to see details on the nautical chart, plan routes and follow navigation on the water.
Compared to a fixed chartplotter, a tablet is also more flexible. You can take it with you when leaving the boat, which reduces the risk of theft. At the same time, you get a device that can be used for much more than navigation – from reading the news in the cockpit to planning the next day’s route or relaxing with a movie in the harbor.
You can use the same Skippo account on multiple devices, making it easy to switch between mobile and tablet. The app is available for both iOS and Android.
To navigate, it’s important that your tablet has built-in GPS or that you use an external GPS. Without it, the app won’t receive position data, and navigation without connectivity will not work.
By downloading the app to your tablet, you can plan comfortably on a larger screen – and then use it as your chartplotter on board. Make sure to mount the tablet securely so it stays in place while underway. We recommend a water-resistant model or a protective case that can handle exposure to the elements.

Dashboard
On tablets, the navigation dashboard is optimized for the larger screen. You can control how much space it takes and swipe between different views. This allows you to tailor the interface to how you use the app – whether you prioritize overview or detail.
Split screen
With a larger screen, you also get access to split screen. This means you can have two views open at the same time in the app.
For example, you can navigate on one side and plan on the other, or use different zoom levels for better control. A flexible way to adapt Skippo to your time on the water.
To enable split screen, tap the icon second from the top on the right in the Navigation tab.
