Wind Protection

Filter nature harbors by the desired wind direction – the directions marked in green are the ones the harbor should be protected from. Combined with wind arrows and weather forecasts, this helps you find a safe harbor for you and your boat.

Wind protection is an estimate based on Skippo’s own assessments and user-generated data. Found an error? Report it here.

Note: The wind rose is only available to Hamnguiden subscribers in the Skippo app. Learn more about our subscriptions here.

Amenities

Filter harbors based on the amenities you’re looking for. You’ll see a list of options with checkboxes – once you select one or more, the boxes are checked, making it easy to find a harbor that suits your needs.

Only harbors that offer the selected amenities will remain visible on the chart. This makes it easy to find a harbor that suits your needs.

Mooring Options

Filter harbors by available mooring types. Selected options are highlighted in dark blue, so you can easily find a harbor that fits your boat and your needs.

Rock Ring: A metal ring on land (often embedded in rock) where you can fasten your line when mooring bow-to-land.

Y-Boom: Two arms extending from a dock that help keep the boat in place within a berth.

Piles: Poles in the water that you moor the boat to – common in harbors for keeping boats steady.

Stern Anchor: An anchor deployed from the stern (rear) to keep the boat in place, often used when bow is moored to land.

Anchored Afloat: Anchoring without attaching to land or buoy – the boat can rotate freely around the anchor.

Free-Standing Buoy: A buoy in open water not connected to land – you moor the boat to the buoy and float freely.

Mooring Line: A line fixed to the seabed, leading up to a buoy or dock – used to keep the boat in place without needing your own anchor.

Stern Buoy: A buoy you tie the stern of your boat to, typically when the bow is moored to a dock or the shore.

Alongside: Mooring with the boat’s side directly against the dock.
