To ensure that all maps and features in Skippo continue to work, you need to update the app to version 11.0 or later. This is because our previous map provider, Eniro, is shutting down its servers, and the app therefore needs to use new solutions.
Most users have automatic app updates enabled and don’t need to do anything to keep using all functions and maps in Skippo. However, if your app is not updated, some maps may stop working completely.
How to update the Skippo app
1. Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
2. Search for Skippo.
3. Tap Skippo.
4. Tap Update. If it says Open, you already have the latest version.
5. Restart the app after updating.
How to check which app version you have installed
1. Open the Skippo app.
2. Go to the My Skippo tab.
3. Tap Account (the gear icon).
4. Scroll to the bottom.
5. Under App version you’ll see a number. If it is 11.0 or higher, your app is up to date.
What happens if I don’t update?
| App version | What is affected if you don’t update? |
| 9.X or lower | Nautical charts, land maps, satellite photos, map images |
| 10.0–10.6 | Land maps, satellite photos, map images |
| 11.0 or higher | Everything works as normal |
If your device is too old
Skippo 11.0 requires iOS 15 or later, or Android 9 or later. If your device cannot be updated to these versions, unfortunately you won’t be able to use Skippo fully. Older devices simply don’t meet the technical requirements needed for the app to function properly.
The long-term solution is to switch to a newer device that supports the operating systems we require. You can find our full terms of service here.
