The Harbour Guide is an add-on subscription that includes detailed descriptions of natural harbours and guest marinas along the Swedish coast. The content is produced by Norwegian publisher Skagerrak Forlag and is based on high-quality editorial material focused on boating and coastal experiences.
What’s included in the Harbour Guide in Skippo?
- Filter by amenities such as shore power, sauna, and showers
- Wind direction filter – find harbours sheltered from a selected wind direction
- Detailed harbour descriptions with local tips, points of interest, and historical context
- Maritime guidance to assist with approach, mooring, and anchoring
- Aerial photos with markers for known underwater hazards and recommended mooring locations
- Detailed harbour maps from Hydrographica

Please note that The Harbour Guide is currently only available in Swedish. We’re working on making it available in more languages soon.
Is it possible to transfer a subscription from the Harbour Guide app to Skippo?
At the moment, it is unfortunately not possible to transfer an existing subscription from the standalone Harbour Guide app to Skippo. The two apps are separate services, with different pricing, features, and systems for subscription management. If you want to use the Harbour Guide in Skippo, you will need to start a new subscription directly within the Skippo app.
There are some differences between the Harbour Guide in Skippo and the standalone Harbour Guide app. In Skippo, you get access to additional features such as wind rose (wind direction), the ability to filter by anchoring type and facilities like sauna, shower, or shore power. Furthermore, the selection of harbours may differ slightly – there is not a complete overlap between the two apps.
Access to Hamnguiden or Havneguiden?
- Hamnguiden – available in the Swedish version of the app
- Havneguiden – available in the Norwegian version of the app
Which guide you have access to is determined by the country your Skippo app is linked to. This means Swedish users see Hamnguiden – but not Havneguiden – and vice versa.
Hamnguiden Nordic
We are currently working on a new solution, Hamnguiden Nordic, which will give both Swedish and Norwegian users access to both guides within the same app. It has not yet been launched – but we’ll let you know as soon as it becomes available for subscription.
