You upgrade your subscription via the same platform you used when you first signed up – Apple, Google, or Skippo’s website (Stripe).
Via Apple
Log into the app and go to My Skippo > View subscriptions. Here you can choose to upgrade your subscription.
When you upgrade via Apple, the payment is fully handled by the App Store in accordance with Apple’s subscription policies.
Here’s what happens:
- You pay the difference immediately
- You get instant access to the new subscription
- Apple refunds a proportional amount for the unused time of your previous subscription
This means you’re not double-charged – you only pay for the upgrade. The exact amount depends on how far into your current period you are. Apple calculates and handles this automatically, and the refund is usually processed within 1–3 business days.
Via Google
Log into the app and go to My Skippo > View subscriptions. Here you can choose to upgrade your subscription.
When you upgrade via Google, the value of your current subscription is converted into additional time on your new subscription.
You pay the full price for the new subscription, but thanks to the deduction of the old subscription’s value, your access lasts longer.
Via the website (Stripe)
You can easily upgrade your subscription via our website. Go to https://www.skippo.se/appen/subscription and select the plan you want to upgrade to.
When upgrading via our website:
- You pay the difference in price
- You get immediate access to the new subscription
- The remaining value of your old subscription is deducted automatically
- Any refund is processed within a few business days
If you have Smart + Hydrographica and want to upgrade to Premium
To switch to Premium, you must first cancel your Hydrographica subscription so that it does not renew. Once the Hydrographica period has ended, you can upgrade your Smart subscription to Premium via the same platform you originally used.
If you signed up for Smart via the website, you can only purchase Hydrographica as an add-on – not upgrade directly to Premium. However, Smart + Hydrographica equals Premium and gives you the same features.
Note: The Hydrographica subscription must have expired before you can upgrade Smart to Premium.
